As the artist, I don't feel in full possession of my art; I rather feel that it possesses me. The art sings a different song to each individual. The elements of collage in the paintings add a diversity that is mirrored in human beings and their varied personalities which then interact with others. Perceptions are deceiving and the mind is such a master at them. Breaking through perceptions reveals humanity’s melánge of imperfections and characters; and a unity in those. These paintings are such experiences seen through my own filters. As a woman, my paintings become women in different colors and shapes. Thick lines and bold hues characterize me. The implements of creating, like paint brushes, pencils, newspaper, pretty faces, emotional breakdowns and a frustrated mind ignite the art into reality. Words, brush strokes and emotion are all recognizable things which I feel connected to art and people through. This series, "Unspoken minds" reflects this creative process and the people who share similar secrets and fears.
