Current Gallery: piedrasverdesranch ( piece)
Colorful watercolor effect digital art from a trip to what was once the ranch owned by a friend's grandparents' in Sonora, Mexico. Known as "Piedras Verdes", which means Green Rocks, the area also has a predominance of the red rock characteristic of the Sonora Desert. The green rock found in the area comes from copper, and soon after we visited a copper mine was opened in the area. The ranch itself is not far from the historic silver-mining area of Alamos, Mexico. On the day we visited the vaqueros (cowboys) were branding the calves so I got some photos of the vaqueros at work. Also some great desert landscaapes and some of the family who still own and work the ranch.
